“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”
*Raise your hand if you did SKIPPED breakfast today.* whatever the excuse
We’re inundated with convenient food options EVEN breakfast specific and exclusive foods. Taco Bell, McDonald’s, IHOP
Yet you still didn’t eat breakfast? Hmm...
>>>>
So why do we believe that breakfast is so important?
Maybe it’s so we can do a better job throughout the day? I mean it says it right there in this ad...
If we take it from this General Foods Cereal that sells ‘Grape Nuts’. Which is marketed as a healthy cereal even though it does not contain any grapes or nuts.
That’s great marketing.
>>>>
Great marketing funded by the top third expenditure of Americans.
>>>>
So what if this ‘Eat Breakfast First Thing’ is simply a way to increase profits by marketing highly convenient, highly processed, long shelf-life foods to achieve a maximum profit?

What if I told you that I skip breakfast nearly every day?* Let me remind you that fasting is essentially not consuming any significant amount of calories. *Here’s how long it’s been the last time since I ate.* Phone time of ~24 hours increasing by the second.
So you see that tea that Kermit the Frog is drinking there, that likely wouldn’t ‘break his fast.’ (As long as he didn’t add any sugar, milk, or cream.)
So you might be asking… Isn’t this just another form of ‘starving’?
My answer fundamentally would be, no.
Someone eating less frequently doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re eating less calories than someone’s total at the end of the day.
No food in up to 3 days actually has shown a 13% increase in metabolism.
Beyond this, lets talk more about what sets IF apart from 3+ meals a day.

More Directly Shed Stored Bodyfat
Fasting is not sending our body mixed hormone signals. Can you imagine a truly ‘fat burning food?’ It makes no sense. If you eat something your body will secrete hormones to store and convert that food energy as opposed to stay in the mode of expending long stored food energy from Thanksgiving 2016. Don’t send your body mixed messages.
-Normalization of Insulin sensitivity
This benefit is HUGE and one of the biggest solutions to the Type 2 diabetes epidemic. Normalization of insulin is one of the key underlying hormone issue to those that have such a difficult time losing bodyfat. One of the the main reasons we become overweight and can’t keep the weight off is this hormone issue.
Ability to eat more fulfilling portions and still hit a calorie deficit if that is the goal.
This is self explanatory. If I am going out with friends, I’m going to be able to eat a good helping of most appetizers, along with everything on my plate for my main entree and sides!
Bonus points if you are able to workout fasted and eat your big meals post-workout.
More hours to be productive in the day!
You’ve probably already worked through lunchtime before once or many times if you’re a true college student.
This is a no brainer if you’re looking for a productivity life-hack.
More benefits I can’t even go into!

*What does a normal day of IF look like?*
There are many different ways you can implement this into your life. the easiest to implement for most people is usually referred to as a 16:8. 16 hours fasted, 8 hour feasting window.
You can consume calories anywhere within this 8 hour window and you’ll be implementing this lifestyle.
Now it’s your turn:
Do you want to save some extra money by skipping breakfast, avoiding the marketing propaganda and noise?t
Do you want to send your body the right hormonal message to expend stored fat?
Do you want to stay focused and productive?
Do you want to follow a timing strategy that sets you up for success at the end of the day?

Well now you know how I did it.
